- Sister of Edmond Ironsides Higgason

IN MEMORY
OF
FANNIE HIGGASON
WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE
FEB 25th 1851

Fannie is dead.

As light winds through
the fragrant groves
Detaches first the flower it loves

Thus angels with her fly fled
She sinks within the
arms of death

Ere yet the chilling
wintry breath
Of grief had o'er her blown
And freed, her living virgin form
doth rest
In the open earth's all
tranquil breast

Her soul to God has blown
Dr. George Higgason - Father
