Side inscription on marker:

"Sweet the thought, the promise sweet,
That kind friends, long severed friends shall meet,
That kindred souls, on earth disjoined,
Shall meet, from earthly dross refined,
And mingle hearts to part no more."

The McAllisters

"Family tradition says that four McAllister brothers sailed from Scotland for America about the end of the 18th century. The ship was blown completely off course by a storm which took it to Gibraltar, where one boy died from a fever. The earliest name found thus far is that of Barnabas, who married Elizabeth, and lived in Alabama. Barnabas died in 1838 in Greene County, Alabama. They had six sons: Ulysses, Barnabas, James, Robert, Hugh, John; and four daughters, Ann, Margaret, Elmira, Nancy."
